Autumn is Here

Greetings my Northside Family:

Daniel answered and said: “Blessed be the name of God forever and ever, For wisdom and might are His. And He changes the times and the seasons; He removes kings and raises up kings; He gives wisdom to the wise And knowledge to those who have understanding” (Daniel 2:20-21 NKJV).  Daniel is saying some of the powerful verbiage that we still use today to praise our Lord.  God is in charge of everything around us, although sometimes we tend to forget that.  During the changing of seasons His full majesty is highlighted more as He says goodbye to the old and hello to the new.

Our Lord truly does give wisdom to the wise, doesn’t He?  If we are smart, we ask for this wisdom quite often as we walk through this world.  We ask when things are uncertain or perhaps when we are faced with a problem that seems too daunting to us.  This is all part of humbling ourselves before Him and making ourselves more Christ-like.  These things do not change from season to season; we need His guidance daily.  No matter what we go through it will be better with God leading our path.

I encourage you to slow down and enjoy the new season that is now upon us.  I find it to be a beautiful one filled with many opportunities to gather together.  From hayrides to sipping cider around the campfire, God makes wonderful memories for us to capture.  Always be mindful that tomorrow is not guaranteed for any of us, and there are never too many good times spent with family and friends.  May Jesus be our guide in all we do.  We are so blessed to be in His service.

Led by the Spirit,

Pastor Loren
